Set in the peaceful hamlet of Capton, Browns Farm is the perfect base from which to explore this beautiful part of Devon. The pretty village of Dittisham, on the River Dart, is just two miles away and, with its two pubs and superb waterfront location, is a lovely spot to relax with a drink and watch the world go by whilst the kids enjoy the fun of crabbing on the quay!

The historic town of Dartmouth is only four miles away and offers a superb range of charming shops, pubs and restaurants. A variety of boat trips are available from the river front and fishing trips can easily be arranged.

With its beautiful countryside and magnificent, rugged coastline, South Devon could have easily been designed for walkers. A fantastic selection of walks are available, some of which start right from our doorstep. Whether you fancy a gentle stroll along sleepy country lanes, a bracing jaunt along the famous coast path or a serious hike over the wilds of Dartmoor, one thing can be guaranteed - you'll never get bored with walking in Devon!

For those of a sporty disposition, there is little that is not available within a few minutes drive from the Farm.

Dartmouth is renowned for its boating and sailing activities but nearby there is also Horse Riding, Golf, Coarse and Sea Fishing, Swimming, Tennis, Squash, Cycling and much more.

For the children "Devon is Heaven"! There are numerous beaches nearby as well as the incredible Woodlands Adventure Park, Paignton Zoo, The River Dart Steam Railway and many other great leisure and activity centres.

The charming old towns of Totnes, Kingsbridge and Salcombe are close by and for lovers of good food and the odd tipple, there is an abundance of old inns and village pubs to investigate!

With four of our own children, a love of walking and an extensive knowledge of the local area, we are always on hand to help you find the quietest beach or the best fishing.
