This building's roof is a popular local landmark. Once the original house which later became a barn, now imaginatively converted by Laurie into a lovely big holiday cottage. All the rooms except the bunk room are exceptionally large and spacious. This is an ideal cottage for an extended family, two families sharing or those who just want to spread themselves. The entrance is through a stable door off the courtyard into a big airy tiled dining room with a high curved pine ceiling. From the dining room an arch leads to a comfortable living room with plenty of seating and a woodburning stove. There is also a downstairs cloakroom. There is a twin bedroom off the dining room with an ensuite shower room suitable for the disabled. French windows open out on to a terrace with a ramp. The kitchen is reached by a ramp from the dining room. Fitted in light pine, this long light room has beautiful farmland views. There is an electric hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and large fridge freezer. Stairs go up from the lounge to three lovely bedrooms. One has a king-sized bed, a curved wood ceiling, and dual aspect views of farmland. There is a twin room which looks over fields and the courtyard, and a smaller bunk room suitable for children (3 bunks, one 2'6"). The bathroom has a corner suite and hand shower. There is a large terrace adjacent to the cottage with seating, lighting and BBQ. There is parking for two cars. |
